Daniel Schmidt is a Research Project Manager at the Prevention Research Center at Penn State. His key project is Evidence2Success and he also serves as a Technical Assistance Provider/Coach for the Coalition Check-Up Project. Prior to his work at the Center over a year ago, Daniel was an instructor at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, where he received his master’s in corporate communication in May 2015.

As an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Daniel became a prevention scientist to enact change and benefit the greater community. Daniel enjoys working on any meaningful project that will benefit society, but when he is not doing that, he and his wife are enjoying first-time parenthood with their new son, Augustus. An interesting fact about Daniel is that he holds a lifetime undefeated record at thumb wrestling.
