Research Reinforces the Benefits of CTC:
A recent study conducted by scientists at Penn State's Edna Bennet Pierce Prevention Research Center shows that the Communities That Care public health approach to prevention in Pennsylvania continues to pay off in decreased problem behaviors for communities that have adopted this model.
Mobilizing Communities to Implement Tested and Effective Programs to Help Youth Avoid Risky Behaviors: The Communities That Care Approach research brief by Child Trends that describes the Communities that Care (CTC) prevention system, the steps involved in implementing this system, and major findings from a community randomized trial of CTC. The Social Development Research Group (SDRG) conducted a five-year experimental study to examine the effects of Communities That Care prevention operating system on community prevention services and on levels and trends in risk, protection, drug use, violence and antisocial behavior among adolescents in grades 4 through 12.
